Services and Membership
IPCMV’s fee-for-service program offers land managers educational, technical and operational services for invasive plant management. This program not only allows IPCMV to get out in the region and make a difference, but also provides an opportunity for the organization to generate additional funding for activities that are often difficult to fundraise for such as administration, development/fundraising, partnership building, professional development, regional-scale planning and research activities.
Public Workshops
IPCMV offers different invasive plant presentations for public groups such as garden clubs and recreation groups. Presentations cover the basics of invasive plants and invasiveness and can be tailored to meet the knowledge level and interests of the group. Workshops are typically 1-1.5 hours.
Staff Training Workshops
IPCMV offers invasive plant training sessions for staff of land managers throughout the Metro Vancouver region. IPCMV can provide staff with general invasive plant information and help them to be able to identify invasive plant species of regional concern. Depending on staff-type (i.e. contractors, parks, engineering, decision-makers), IPCMV can tailor a training session to meet your needs. This can include plant-specific control techniques and best management practices for activities such as roadside maintenance, mowing etc. Workshops are typically 2.5 hours and can be longer to include a field component.
